24-hour crisis hotline support; onsite safe shelter and offsite hotel placement; basic necessities; crisis intervention and support; and life skills groups.
Strengths-based, client centered, and trauma-informed goal setting, resource referrals, and service linkages that emphasize housing, health, and self-sufficiency.
Onsite or scattered site housing, rent and/or utility subsidies, housing-specific case management, resource referrals, and employment guidance for six to 24 months.
Individual and group counseling, support groups, and family therapy for adult and child survivors. Following best practices, Hope House does not offer counseling with the abusive individual.
Assistance in thirteen area courts including order of protection court, as well as lethality assessment programs with eight area municipal police departments.
Targeted assistance and case management for adult survivors with Family Court and/or Children’s Division involvement.
Representation to address the broad range of civil legal issues encountered by survivors such as protection orders, child support, child custody, divorce, paternity, etc. Contract Attorneys provide legal representation while a full time Paralegal and Legal Advocate provide support and case management services.
A secure, off-site facility where custodial parents safely exchange custody of their children and/or children participate in supervised visits with their non-custodial parent.
Direct service provision 24-hours a day to patients identified as survivors of domestic violence, training for medical personnel, and assistance with domestic violence protocol at six area participating hospitals and clinics.
The Hope House 24-Hour hotline provides those in need with access to programs, resources, and serves as a safe space for survivors to discuss their situation in confidentiality. The hotline number is 816-461-HOPE(4673).
Strengths-based, client centered, and trauma-informed goal setting, resource referrals, service linkages, and crisis intervention as well as individual and group therapy services offered onsite at Hawthorne Place Apartments, an income based rental complex located in Independence, MO.
Partnership with the Independence Police Department to provide crisis intervention services, advocacy, and resource referrals and linkages to survivors contacting the police for assistance. The Co-Responding Advocate also coordinates revisits to survivors’ homes with Independence Police officers to offer additional support and resources.
